I Wasn't Too Shy To Scream

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 19, 2009, 10:08 PM
:star:Commissions:star:Fan Fiction:star:Guitar Tabs:star:Youtube:star:

Even though I was extremely busy, I have to say that this was a good week.

To start with I won second place in *PianoxLullaby's Halloween contest, YouTube unblocked one of my AMVs, and apparently *TheManOfManyFaces has started working on a cosplay of my Halloweentown Cloud.

That was a all quite good. But today I saw AFI with ~mewAeris.

One word summary: Epic.

I met Smith before the show in the DF line, he gave me my little "Crash Love" wristband to get in with. He's a really cool guy to talk to. Then I got to sign a big birthday card for Davey and Jade, right next to where Hunter had signed. :D

Kiko and I made a new friend with another DF-er before the show. For a while I was quite disallusioned with the DF because a lot of people seemed to be playing the "I'm the biggest fan" game, but the people I met at this show from the club were very nice.

I was about ten feet away from Davey at first, but in the end I think it was more like five.

After a few opening bands, AFI came on and the crowd went nuts. My feet were already in pain when they started playing, but I didn't really have to worry about that once the show started because I was so sandwiched between the other concert-goers that my feet weren't even on the ground most of the time. At one point, me and Kiko and a few other girls got smushed together so badly that even Davey cringed at us when he saw. :XD: He's silly. He was kidding around about how he almost wished that no one had shown up so he could go on the big Disney balloon outside. They played a few songs I hadn't expected and I really liked that, even some of their really old songs. I had a lot of fun singing along with Davey and being a crazy idiot, even though I am in so much pain from moshing right now and I got a drink spilled on me because the dude behind me was a moron.

Here's the basic gist of the setlist for those who are interested:
Torch Song
Girls Not Gray
Leaving Song Pt. II
Veronica Sawyer Smokes
End Transmission
Triple Zero
Self Pity
Leaving Song
On the Arrow
The Missing Frame
Death of Seasons
Dancing Through Sunday
Kill Caustic
Beautiful Thieves
Medicate
Love Like Winter
then they came back for an encore and played:
Too Shy To Scream
Miss Murder
Silver and Cold

All in all, great setlist. I was kind of hoping for "Days of the Phoenix", but the fact that they played some of their old stuff made up for that.

When we left, I was so ridiculously tired that I was walking through Downtown Disney laughing at the thought that Davey might be up in the balloon, and that mental image still makes me laugh.

End Transmission.

I fake a smile to keep you from asking questions.
I wear long sleeved shirts to hide the scars.
I just wish you would stop asking me how I feel.

You have no idea how much that random comment just boosted my confidence. Thank you. In the midst of drowning in essays, I really needed that. Thanks.
